Whatever you need…

Prenatal Visits

A trusting relationship is the foundation of doula care, so these meetings are focused on getting to know each other, having open discussions, and building our support team. We discuss your concerns and birth preferences, look at evidence based information, create a personalized birth plan, review labor positions and comfort measures, discuss your previous birth experience (if you’ve had any), and anything else you might want to explore or review. Depending on the Birth Partner’s comfort level, I will teach a few supportive techniques during these visits so they can feel prepared and confident going into labor.

Support at your fingertips

When you reach out, I will reply in a timely manner. It’s so simple but so important to know that a compassionate and knowledgable doula is just a text or phone call away. I can make suggestions and listen in a way that even the best doctor or midwife simply doesn’t have the time for.

Resources for your peace of mind

I have plenty of printed and electronic information to help you stay informed, build your birth plan, and keep you updated on all the great prenatal and postpartum services offered in the area. Just let me know if you are looking for something specific!

Clean home life

Is your house safe for a newborn? I’m not talking about outlets and chords and choking hazards, I’m talking about the toxicity of your home. Most homes are filled with thousands of chemicals that are harmful to you and your little one. I specialize in analyzing and creating a safe, toxic free environment for you and your family to thrive in. Going toxic free can seem daunting, but it usually turns out to be a fun and life-giving process for your family. And thankfully, toxic free products work as well or better than toxic ones!

On-Call Services

Beginning at 37 weeks, I am officially on-call for you. My cell phone is on and I answer it 24/7. If there is reason to believe that you might go into labor before 37 weeks (e.g., you did with your first pregnancy, you’re having twins, or you’re in a high risk category), I can easily make arrangements for on-call services to begin earlier (this may involve another trusted doula).

At Home Labor Support

Not everybody needs or wants this service, but for those who want to labor in the comfort of their own home for as long as possible, a doula’s presence can be especially reassuring. A doula can normalize the labor process and help keep things calm so you can feel safe and secure. I also offer tips on labor progression and comfort measures and help you determine when it’s time to transition to the hospital.

Labor & Birth Support

At the hospital I offer support in a variety of ways including informational support, physical comfort methods, mental and emotional encouragement, labor progression techniques, effective positioning, breaks for your Birth Partner, and working with your medical team to honor your birth preferences. If your labor is long enough, I will require breaks - but it will be during the times you are resting or when your Birth Partner can be close to you. I will never leave during a time where my presence is critically required. After all, my job is to keep you peaceful!

Spiritual Support

My goal as a doula is to create the most peaceful and joyful experience as I can while your body works its incredible magic to bring your baby into the world. My philosophy is that there is a HUGE spiritual component to labor and delivery. I’m prepared to help create and contribute to a beautiful spiritual experience for you and your family.

As a Christian, my faith is one of the motivating factors that leads me to love and serve well. This said, I am non-discriminatory, and open to your spirituality, whatever that means.

Postpartum Support

After your baby is born, I will stay with you for 1-2 hours to assist with breastfeeding, encourage family bonding, remind pediatric staff of your newborn decisions, and rejoice in the beauty of your baby.

Once you’re home from the hospital or birth center and are nesting in with your baby, I can come to your house to offer transitional support focused on processing the birth experience, assisting with breastfeeding, answering newborn care questions, discussing your transition into parenthood, or whatever else you’re wanting to check in about.

For six weeks after delivery, I am available for informational support by text or email and can help answer questions and provide you with resources as needed.
